Abstract

A symmetry argument is given which suggests that the relation between the zero-field magnetic susceptibility χ H and the order parameter given by Edwards and Anderson for their spin-glass model with infinite-range forces also is valid for a class of spin glasses with short-range forces. For this class similar arguments suggest that in vanishing magnetic field H, б 2χ H/бH 2 and the spin-glass susceptibility with respect to a random magnetic field are simply related.
