Abstract

Objectives: To survey the metabolic disorders at Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital in 2021. To elevate the effects of HT tablets in the treatment of stagnated Phlegm-dampness dyslipidemia.Subjects and methods: A retrospective survey on 6476 patients with lipid metabolism disorders in 2021 at Nghe An traditional medicine hospital, an open clinical intervention prospective study, comparing before and after treatment of over 60 patients with dyslipidemia based on NCEP ATP III 2002 according to modern medicine, stagnation of low phlegm according to traditional medicine.Results: Survey on metabolic disorders at Nghe An Traditional Medicine Hospital in 2021: Among the research subjects, 48% were male patients, 52% were female. The proportion of women > 60 years old with dyslipidemia was 78.2%, meanwhile it was 75.6% in the men group. The proportion of dyslipidemia-diagnosed female and male patients < 60 years old were 20.6% and 21.4%, respectively. The percentage of women < 45 years old with dyslipidemia accounted for 1.2%, and it was 3.1% in the male group. The difference is not statistically significant (p > 0.05). The mean age of the female group with dyslipidemia was 68.08 ± 9.34 (years old), of the male group was 66.95 ± 10.66 (years old). The difference was not statistically significant (p>0.05). 99.0% of patients were diagnosed with dyslipidemia and diabetes, in which, diabetes accounted for the highest rate with 51.8%, and dyslipidemia was 47.2%. The difference was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). The effects of the HT pill in the treatment of stagnated Phlegm-dampness dyslipidemia. After 30 days of treatment, the patients had a marked improvement in serum cholesterol levels. Before the study, the serum cholesterol value was 5.69 ± 0.93 mmol/l, and it was decreased by 14.1% to 4.89 ± 0.73 mmol/l after 30 days. The serum triglyceride value was 2.48 ± 0.94 mmol/l, and it was decreased by 21.4% to 1.95 ± 0.51 mmol/l. Among 60 patients, 56% of patients achieved good treatment effect and 32% of patients achieved good treatment effect, 12% of patients did not achieve treatment effect according to modern medicine. According to traditional medicine, the number of patients with good treatment effect is 54%, quite 36%, and 10% with ineffective treatment. It was found that during the treatment process, 5 patients showed side effects such as dyspepsia, diarrhea, accounting for 3.3%. Additionally, we did not noticed other unwanted effects. However, the symptoms were mild and resolved spontaneously within a few days without being treated.
