Cash flow problems and aspects of the master-servant relationship vary greatly between the softwood forestry and contract hit-man industries, and so do payment systems generally, although perhaps not always to the extent represented in the quotations.For convenience, call the above cases Deferred Compensation and Immediate Cash respectively. We will apply similar nomeclature to the other examples used.This article looks at a few hard cases in compensation, and tries to extract some principles.
