Abstract

Objective To summary the experience in surgical therapy for uremic complication before renal transplantation in order to improve renal transplantation prognosis.Methods Clinical data of surgical therapy for various uremic complications including polyeystic kidney,uncontrolled hypertension,hypersplenism,gastric ulcer from 1978 to 1999 were analyzed.Results Renal transplantation was carried out in 9 patients with polyeystic kidney 1 to 6 months after removal of kidney,the follow-up renal function was normal.The blood pressure was decreased at various degrees in 21 cases of hypertension after operation,then the patients received the renal transplantation 6-12 months after operation and renal function was stable.The renal function in 4 patients with splenotomy and 5 patients with gastrectomy quickly recovered to normal after renal transplantation.Conclusions Uremic sydrome through effective conservation treatment might be required surgical therapy in order to increase the surgical chances of renal transplantation and postoperative kidney survival rate.
