Abstract
Single domain bulk YBa 1.8K 0.2Cu 3O y +0.4Y 2BaCuO 5 (MTG-YBKCO) has been successfully prepared by melt-textured growth. The curve of critical current density versus applied magnetic field at 55 K shows a peak at around 3.5 T. J c of greater than 7×10 4 A/cm 2 is observed over a broad range of 0–6 T. The peak disappears at temperatures higher than 70 K.
