Abstract

A story developed as a vehicle for the expression of many of the feelings experienced by children in out-of-home placement is presented. The story has helped children in therapy to express their anger, acknowledge their fears of abandonment, and talk about their longing for permanence. It has also enabled foster parents to better understand the child's situation and viewpoint.
