Abstract

The article investigates alogisms that are applied in the language of dastans, folklore work belonging to the Epos genre. The hyponymy, graduonymy, partonymy, symbolic metaphorical and metonymic types of these alogisms are meticulously analysed by this work. Moreover, the work sheds a light on the relations of these types with space and time used in dastans. Albeit the presence of voluminous studies and research performed to ascertain how alogism interacts with epics and contributes to the development of folklore, there are still few studies, which endeavour to explicate the role of alogisms in Uzbek genre of Epics, Dastans. The aim is here to shed a light on peculiarities of alogism in the language of dastans and the findings evince that alogisms take an irreplaceable role in the language of folklore dastans and are linked with mythological thinking. These alogisms are applied in accordance with a particular aim of the speaker and are present in numerous types uncovered by this work.
