Abstract

Islamic extremism has been a hot issue in international relations research in recent years. The key problems including how to treat Islamic extremism and what the root cause and harm are to be solved in this paper. Pakistan has become a typical victim of Islamic extremism due to its unique geopolitical characteristics and historical factors. Characterized by long-term nature and complexity, Islamic extremism in Pakistan has become an important part of transnational terrorist forces. Therefore, it is of great significance to the security and development of South Asia to study the development history, essence and harm of Islamic extremism in this country.
