Abstract

Non-destructive testing of carbide phase anisotropy in the material (steel EI961) of the rotor blades of a high-pressure turbine compressor (HPTC) by optical metallography and ultrasonic pulse-echo techniques directly after operation and after tempering has been carried out. A correlation between the parameter of intrinsic acoustic anisotropy and the coefficient of structural anisotropy of the carbide phase was established
