Abstract

The article presents a theoretical analysis of the phenomenon of social apathy, the factors influencing its formation and development are highlighted. Social apathy is considered both as a state of the individual and as a state of a social group. The results of a study aimed at studying the severity of social apathy in society are also presented. The study was conducted using the methodology “Scale of Apathyˮ A. A. Zolotareva and an author’s questionnaire aimed at studying social life. It is concluded that the level of apathy is at an average level, but tends to increase. The subjects are interested in the events taking place in the city and the world, but this does not affect the increase in the sense of ownership in the development of society and the country, which is an important indicator of the presence of social apathy in the group. At the same time, in general, people prefer to stay at home longer than usual, do not actively participate in social events and do not participate in the development of their city. The prospects for further development and study of social apathy are outlined, due to the insufficiency of both theoretical and practical research.
