Abstract

This work presents the results of mathematical modeling of the process of heating and curing of a polymer material during the production of a composite reinforcement. To predict the temperature and degree of curing of the material of the rod, a model that takes into account the heat exchange, curing reactions, and properties of the composite material is used. The analysis of the efficiency of the heating system utilizing infrared heaters in comparison with the heating system utilizing typical electric heaters has been performed. It has been shown that the use of infrared heating substantially saves energy and reduces the costs for the production of the composite reinforcement.
