Abstract

The article discusses the results of the study of sunflower tester hybrids obtained at the Saratov State Agrarian University according to the scheme: 3 testers - sterile lines and 26 lines - pollinators. Combining ability studies revealed the ranks of OCS and SCS testers, as well as paternal forms. Significant effects of SCS hybrids on the content of fat and protein in sunflower seeds allow them to be considered as a promising breeding material for further study in nurseries of a higher level. It has been established that the frequency of heterosis in terms of fat content is determined by the genotype of parental forms. Line - tester UV 16 b causes a higher frequency and degree of competitive heterosis. According to the protein content, the magnitude and frequency of competitive heterosis practically does not depend on the choice of the tester line. The value of true heterosis in terms of protein content in tester crosses is noted very rarely. A high effect of OCS on fat content was found in the lines: J6 - Slastena, J6 - UN 1313, (KSP-6V), J6 - Krepysh, J6 - Saratov 20 (KSPP-3A). A high dispersion of SCS in terms of fat content was determined in the lines: J6 - Saratov 20 (KSPP-3A), J6 - Malin. Lines with a high effect of OCS in terms of protein content were identified: J6 - Stepnoy 81, J6 - Photon. In breeding for the creation of heterotic hybrids according to the protein content in sunflower seeds, it is advisable to use lines with high SCS dispersion: J6 - Veydelevsky 99, J6 - Natali, J6 -Belgorodsky 94, J6 - Sholokhovskiy.
