Abstract
This chapter presents a review of the book The Study of Religion and the Training of Muslim Clergy in Europe: and Religious Freedom in the 21st Century . The book is a collection of papers, the majority of which were originally presented at a 2007 Leiden conference on Academic and Religious Freedom: Tensions and Compromises in the Coexistence of Two Fundamental Rights; the training of Muslim clergy featured as a sub-theme at the conference. The two main parts of the book follow this dual track. Part one of the book focuses on academic freedom with regard to the study of religion.
