Abstract

Based on the course characteristic of English for specific purposes(ESP) and the advantage of online multimedia technology, this article showed the theoretical basis of using the online autonomous learning in ESP teaching. Through the questionnaire designed by ourselves, a study was conducted on the medical students’ attitude to the online autonomous learning, the demand of medical English online resources and the ability of finding online resources. According to the theoretical basis and the results of the questionnaire, all of the learning resources were classified and choosed. Then the structure of the Self-learning Platform of Medical English was constructed, and the teaching way of combining online autonomous learning and classroom learning had been studied.
