Abstract
A distributed ion pump with aluminum chamber, aluminum anodes and titanium cathodes has been studied. It was observed from AES and RBS analyses that a titanium layer with oxygen and nitrogen atoms (with a ratio T i/N + O ≅ 0.7) was deposited on the surface of the aluminum anode.
