Abstract

with the rehabilitation developing rapidly, the evaluation of balance capacity has played a more and more important role. However, there are little standard algorithm for evaluation indexes recently. In this paper, we propose series of algorithm of evaluation indexes of man's balance capacity with the testing method of balancing apparatus. Based on the similar products on the market and the existing evaluation indexes, such trunk sway angle (TSA) and fall index, the proposed algorithm for the indexes will be realized by collecting and processing body's gravity center. To verify the indexes, the man from 17 to 89, divided into four groups, are tested on the self developed balancing apparatus. By testing, all the indexes in the paper can properly reflect balance status and capacity of test subject. Meanwhile, they also reflect the trend of weakness of man's balance capacity with growing age. So the algorithm for indexes will be inductive to the determination of indexes of some other types of balancing apparatus.
