The structure and semantics of the names of Orthodox churches Uman XVII century

Abstract

The article analyzes the nominations and the process of formation of the names of Orthodox churches in Uman, the first memories of which date from the XVII century. Such ecclesiamas were not yet the subject of onomastic study, which determines the relevance of the chosen topic. Research methods: descriptive - for inventory and systematization of ecclesiastym, comparative-historical - for establishing the reasons for the nomination of religious buildings, diachronic - asmeans of researching names in time. The scientific novelty is due to the fact that for the first time ecclesiastical factual material of Umani XVII century was introduced into scientific circulation and its structural-word-formation and lexical-semantic features in the diachronic aspect were investigated. The results of the work. The source for the names of religious buildings of the studied region were the agionyms and eortonyms. By structural organization, the XVII century ecclesiams are multicomponent substantive constructions.
