Abstract

In 1971, Hans Moldenhauer presented an important discovery to the musical world through publication of a set of previously-unknown orchestral works of Anton Webern. Included in the publication are three complete orchestral pieces and portions of two others, which are incomplete due to lost pages of the original manuscript.1 Moldenhauer describes his discovery in the Prefatory Note to the published score:
