Abstract

AbstractPurpose: This article presents the results of the authors’ study of the features of the criteria used by resident companies (manufacturers and service companies) when choosing an industrial park for launching their own business.Design/methodology/approach: At the previous stages of the study, the authors identified the most important criteria, according to experts, for choosing an industrial park for organizing production by companies-manufacturers and service companies. A questionnaire survey was used as a method of studying the features of the approaches used by companies to select individual entrepreneurs.Findings: The results obtained demonstrate a certain contradiction in the approaches implemented by production and service companies: for service companies, it is very important to focus of the products of industry companies operating in the industrial park on growing markets, and for manufacturing companies, the importance of this market component is low. Manufacturing companies underestimate the market component: in order to organize the production, they do not pay enough attention to solving the problems of marketing products.Originality/value: Respondents a number of the most important criteria for choosing an industrial park to deploy their production and service activities. As a significant “bottleneck” of the approach used by companies-producers, we can mention an insufficiently high level of importance of criteria related to assessing the attractiveness of sales markets for planned products. Ignoring the importance of this strategic aspect of the management of the activity of companies-producers may entail both difficulties in building a sales management system and insufficient sales volumes of products in general.KeywordsIndustrial parkCriteria for the selection of the parkLevel of importance of selection criteriaJEL CodeL 10
