Abstract

Efficient railway transportation management requires accurate train location information in real time on the whole railway network. Complicated railway network with so many tracks close together make it difficult to locate the train on the right track. This paper presents a multi-scale data fusion system to deal with the above problem. The mathematical framework includes:1)A topological model of the railway network.2)A multi scale data fusion system which consists of a odometer and a azimuth gyro to measure the distance along the track and to identify the multi scale features of the track curvatures.3)Multi feature space analysis of the railway network. It is showed that railway tracks which is too near to be distinguished in 2-Dimension coordinate frame can be distinguished in a specific feature space. The results of the train location experiments are also analyzed in this paper.
