Abstract

This study is problematic because of the overlap between the story of David in the Qur’an and the Old Testament, and even an overlap between both of them in interpretation, which requires study and scrutiny. Its aim was to clarify the extent of the difference between the story of David in the Old Testament and the Holy Qur'an in form and content. The approach followed was the descriptive historical approach. The study is divided into two sections, the first section deals with the story of David in the Old Testament and the Holy Qur’an, and the second section deals with the response of the senior Islamic commentators and the researcher’s opinion, followed by results and a conclusion.
