Abstract
At the College Art Association's Annual Conference in Toronto in February 1998 the Canadian artist Vera Frenkel presented her work and was interviewed by the writers Clive Robertson and Dot Tuer. The following text is based on the interviewers' questions and comments, Frenkel's responses, and as commentary a chain of working notes suggesting prospective episodes of her work-in-progress The Institute; or, What We Do for Love, a serial Web narrative on the travails of a large cultural institution.
