Abstract

ABSTRACT It is generally agreed that the main function of the fat body of insects is the storage of those reserve substances which require rapid mobilization during moulting and metamorphosis. But little attention has been given to the part taken by other organs and tissues in building up reserves and almost none to the influence of the composition of the food upon the type of reserve substance laid down.
