Abstract

Centrifugation techniques were used to study subcellular particles of bovine stellate ganglia with particular reference to the storage of noradrenaline. Previous studies on splenic nerve axons have shown both noradrenaline and dopamine β hydroxylase to be localized within the same particles. In ganglia however much more of the noradrenaline was recovered in the cell sap and the distribution of dopamine β hydroxylase indicated that the enzyme might be present in membranous as well as vesicular form.
