Abstract

Objective To explore the status quo of knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of influenza in inpatients in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and analyze its influencing factors. Methods Totally 470 inpatients treated in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in a Class Ⅲ Grade A hospital in Beijing from November 2018 to March 2019 were selected using convenient sampling and investigated with the self-designed questionnaire. Results A total of 470 questionnaires were distributed and 451 valid questionnaires were returned.Among the 451 patients, the score of knowledge about influenza was (25.49±5.51) ; the score of attitude was (16.53±2.74) ; and the score of practice was (28.78±3.51) . Univariate analysis revealed that there was statistically significant difference in knowledge about influenza between patients with different gender, age, marital status, educational background, profession, time between sustaining influenza and the present (P<0.05) ; there was statistically significant difference in attitude toward influenza between patients with different gender, age, marital status and profession (P<0.05) . And there was statistically significant difference in practice about influenza between patients with different gender, age and educational background (P<0.05) . According to Logistic regression analysis taking patients' KAP questionaire score about influenza as dependent variables and statistically significant variables found in univariate analysis as independent variables, gender, age, marital status, profession, time between sustaining influenza and the present were the independent influencing factors to the KAP about influenza. Conclusions The KAP levels about influenza in inpatients are uneven. Targeted health education about influenza should be strengthened in inpatients. Key words: Nursing; Inpatient; Influenza; Knowledge, attitude and practice
