Abstract

Tanqua anomala (von Linstow, 1904) is redescribed from specimens collected from the intestine of the semi-aquatic snake Acrochordus javanicus Hornstedt, 1787 from south Sumatra. The morphological features given in the redescription allow the confirmation of T. anomala as a valid species, and distinguish it from other members of the genus. Tanqua ophidis Johnston & Mawson, 1948 is re-examined and placed in synonymy with T. anomala.
