Abstract

The Program of the CPSU and the decisions of the 23rd Party Congress consider the education of the people, and particularly of the younger generation, in the spirit of communism to be one of the most important tasks facing Soviet society. The establishment of the material and technological base for communism, the formation of new relationships in society, and the molding of the new man are interrelated aspects of the unified program for the building of communism. The party regards the education of all working people in a spirit of high ideals and devotion to communism as most important in the ideological struggle at the present stage; also important is the cultivation of a communist attitude toward work and the socialized economy, a complete overcoming of remnants of bourgeois views and habits, a comprehensive and harmonious development of the personality, and the bringing about of a truly rich cultivation of the human spirit.
