Abstract

The research and development of clean energy sources to gradually replace fossil fuel sources and contribute to reducing environmental pollution is an inevitable trend. Specifically, an alternative energy source that uses petroleum as a mode of transportation. Today, the development of electric vehicles has quickly been the focus of many countries. This is considered an effective solution to ensure energy security and environmental problems. In Vietnam, the number of internal combustion engine vehicles is very large, the policies to support electric vehicles are not complete, and the infrastructure is not yet ready, so the transition to using electric vehicles is really a big and complicated problem. Currently, there is no comprehensive study on the situation and development trend of electric vehicles in Vietnam. In this article, we present the current status of automobile development in Vietnam and the factors affecting the development of electric vehicles through an expert workshop, proposing long-term solutions through experiences from countries such as Thailand and Indonesia.
