Abstract
Chinese online novels have gained global influence. After 20 years of rapid development, Chinese web novels have accelerated the pace of "going global", and have demonstrated the cultural self-confidence of the Chinese nation using geographical distribution, genre distribution, and multiple platform distribution from East Asia to North America, gaining a broad space for overseas distribution and activating global cultural and creative energy through Chinese cultural identity. At the same time, the overseas dissemination of Chinese online novels is facing serious piracy, difficulties in protecting rights, homogenization, hollowing out and commercialization of content, difficulties in translation, lack a mature dissemination mechanism, a single business model, and little attention and response to Chinese online novels from the mainstream community abroad. Other difficulties, which require further solutions to promote the better development of overseas dissemination of Chinese online novels.
