It is the purpose of this paper to investigate the recent incidence of streptomycin intoxication in the ear. We examined 639 patients in Saga national hospital. Vertigo, tinnitus and deafness were noticed in 212 cases (33.1%) and among these symptoms vertigo were seen in 62.3% and tinnitus in 39.6%. Deafness, in which the hearing loss was over 3) db in 4000 cps, was found in only 3.6%. Which was the lowest incidence compared with the studies done by other investigators.
