Abstract

The generalized Thomas-Fermi model (statistical model) of nuclei including higher order nonhomogeneity corrections for the kinetic energy is derived from the time (temperature) dependent Green function in the limit of small t (high T). The Weizsäcker correction term is derived in a straightforward manner to be 1 9 ( l ̷ 2/8m) (▽ϱ) 2/ϱ . of including shell structures approximately is presented. The equivalence of the statistical model with the Strutinsky prescription is demonstrated analytically.
