Abstract

This brief article supplements the preceding critique of the research on state legislatures by describing some of the questions about the legislative process raised by legislators who seek information from the National Conference of State Legislatures. In some areas, such as roles and norms, there are few if any inquiries from legislators. In others, there are questions that not only are pertinent to policymakers but that ought to be interesting to political scientists.
