Abstract
<i>The State of the World's Children, 1984</i>, edited by James P. Grant, the executive director of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), should be mandatory reading for anyone who is interested in international health. This book presents an exciting and optimistic yet factual survey of the revolution in child health that is occurring in the 1980s. It compares this revolution with the Green Revolution in agriculture, which occurred in the 1960s and 1970s. The facts and examples presented make the World Health Organization goal from the 1978 Alma Alta International Conference on Primary Health Care of "Health Care for All by the Year 2000" a plausible reality. <i>The State of the World's Children, 1984</i>is divided into three sections.
