Abstract

It is established directly, on the basis of investigations of the Shubnikov–de Haas effect at microwave frequencies and nonresonance cyclotron absorption in solid solution of semimagnetic semiconductor Hg1−x−yCdxMnyTe, that resonant acceptor states associated with mercury vacancies of two types are present in its conduction band. The dependence of the ground state energy of these acceptors on the energy gap is in agreement with the theoretical concepts concerning the long-range Coulomb potential of mercury vacancies.
