Abstract

Purpose of the research. To examine the economic system of Kazakhstan and its key indicators, specifi cally labor productivity and growth levels.Methodology. Results are justifi ed using a method of decomposition, which analyzes the fl uctuations in total productivity within and between sectors. The research involved an analysis of various sectors of the country from 2010 to 2021.Originality / value of the research. After the pandemic period, the Kazakhstani economy experienced a decline in its main macroeconomic indicators and economic growth dynamics. Consequently, there is now a growing interest in understanding the relationship between employment structure and economic growth. In this paper, the authors discuss the crucial factors that infl uence the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the labor force, as well as the level of their utilization.Findings. The signifi cant fi nding is the impact of contemporary development in Kazakhstan. As the country progresses, there is a noticeable shift of workers from agriculture to high-productive industries and services. This shift has been justifi ed using a method of decomposition, which analyzes the fl uctuations in total productivity within and between sectors
