Abstract
We show that the standard three-family model has difficulties to accommodate the recent data on B 0−B̄ 0 and B 0 s−B̄ 0 s mixing obtained in the UA1 and ARGUS experiments. We give the bounds these results impose to the top quark mass and other parameters.
