Abstract

A survey of growth and reproduction traits over eight and seven generations, respectively, is presented for three randombred control (RBC) lines of turkeys. Of the 26 traits measured, regression coefficients for the three RBC lines differed for only 8-wk body weight of females and egg weight, although the difference was in magnitude and not direction of the slopes. A common environmental trend was suggested for 8-wk male and female body weight and for 16-wk shank width of males. There was little evidence of genetic drift in these three RBC lines of turkeys.
