Abstract
We all know North America was riddled with extreme weather and natural disasters during the second half of 2017. There were wildfires in the Pacific Northwest, Canada, and California; there was a 7.1‐magnitude earthquake in Mexico, and consecutive hurricane strikes hitting Texas, Florida, and many Caribbean islands including Puerto Rico. Each of these incidents in its own way tested water professionals and the water sector's infrastructure. What is less known to the masses is what it reveals about the spirit of water professionals.
