Abstract

The objective of this study is to present ‘The Spiral Model for the Development of Coordination’ (SMDC), a learning model that reflects the complexity and possibilities embodied in the learning of movement notation Eshkol‐Wachman (EWMN), an Israeli invention. This model constituted the infrastructure for a comprehensive study that examined the impact of the learning of EWMN on the development of coordination. This research describes different aspects in the learning of EWMN, the construction of the SMDC learning model and the implementation of the model during an intervention program. It also endeavors to indicate the relationship between the learning of EWMN and accepted theories and models of processes of learning. The findings showed that SMDC accompanied the stages of learning in the program, followed the improvement, increased depth in the learning and led the subjects to improve their achievements.
