Abstract

A study has been made of the gamma-ray cascade emitted by the 9.16-MeV state to the 6.44-MeV state and from this to the ground state of N 14, using the reaction C 13(p,γ)N 14 at the 1.75 MeV resonance. By means of angular correlation and distribution measurements, using different geometrical arrangements relative to the beam, the 9.16-MeV state was assigned J = 2 and the 6.44-MeV state J = 3.
