Abstract

Spherical components of several potassium ion-small molecule interaction potentials, recently inferred from total cross sections measured in beam-scattering measurements, are used to compute the gaseous ion mobility and diffusion coefficients. Comparison with experimental transport data is used to show that these data are sensitive to the complete potential and to the effect of inelastic collisions.
