Abstract
This chapter is devoted to the study of the spectra of algebras generated by pseudodifferential operators on a smooth manifold with boundary. Discontinuities of the first kind are allowed in the symbols of these pseudodifferential operators. Dependence of the spectrum on the discontinuities of the symbols, as well as on the choice of a (weighted) function space, is elucidated.
