Abstract The star HD 47732, a member of the open cluster NGC 2264, has been found to be a double-lined spectroscopic binary with component spectral types estimated to be B1.5 IV and B2 V, and to possess a very short period of 1.3041 days. The spectroscopic orbit is derived; by utilizing these elements and the parameters of normal B stars, an inclination close to 39 deg is estimated. The stars are nearly in contact; thus eclipses are a possibility.
