Abstract

The specific heats of CoCl 2 ·6H 2 O, CoBr 2 ·6H 2 O and NiCl 2 ·6H 2 O are measured in spin wave region. The results are not in agreement with the theoretical calculation of the modified spin wave theory of Eisle and Keffer, using spin wave gap energy obtained from AFMR measurements, for all substances. Especially, in the case of CoCl 2 ·6H 2 O, the qualitative disagreement is found.
