Abstract

This article explores whether a service that offers intensive support for families of children with a child protection plan has a positive effect on outcomes. It will examine the work of the Edge of Care health team, comprising a health practitioner, key workers, social care assistant and nursery nurse, in safeguarding children. The service key workers manage a range of issues, including housing, learning disabilities, probation, behavioural support, social work, and drug and alcohol support.
