Abstract

General principles of dissipative quantum mechanics are formulated. A universal and physically reasonable dissipative analog of the time-dependent Schrödinger equation is found. It is demonstrated that for spinless particles this equation coincides with a special limiting case of the Doebner-Goldin equations early derived by means of group theoretical methods.
