Abstract

HE Soviet dairy industry receives its milk through five main channels. These are the state dairy farms, the collective farms having dairy enterprises (MTF), the individual members of the collective farms who have milking animals, the independent peasants with cows, and various state-owned purchasing organizations which contract numerous producers of milk delivery. In addition, there are a large number of consumer cooperative associations which produce milk and other dairy products for their own use.
