Abstract

The South Korea-North Korea relation has always been full of tensions since the end of the Second World War. Those tensions can turn into military conflicts any time which might me detrimental to regional stability and international peace. In such a situation South Korea and North Korea have been negotiating for a peaceful reunification for the previous two decades. But the South Korea-North Korea relation has not been normalized yet. In addition, North Korea has been continuously increasing nuclear weapons reserves and long-range missiles production. As a result, the South Korea-North Korea relation remains full of tensions. The objective of this research is to study the real scenario of South Korea-North Korea peaceful reunification initiative. This research study identifies the progress and limitations of the South Korea-North Korea reunification process. It is evident from the present research study that both of South Korea and North Korea want a peaceful reunification in the Korean peninsula. But there are many domestic, regional and international challenges. The South Korea- North Korea peaceful reunification is plausible if those challenges are resolved.
