Abstract

The general representation of the solution of the modified Helmholtz equation, q xx ( x, y)+ q yy ( x, y)−4 β 2 q( x, y)=0, has been recently constructed. Here we apply this representation in the wedge 0≤ x≤ y≤∞ and use this solution to find the explicit steady-state of diffusion-limited coalescence, A+ A⇌ A, on the half-line, with a trap-source at the origin.
