Abstract
The solubility of oxygen in distilled water and sea water (chlorinity 0–20%) has been determined over the temperature range 1°–35°C. Measurements were made chemically by a modified Winkler technique and also by the physical method described in Part I of this series ( Murray, Riley and Wilson, 1969). The concordance between both sets of readings is good, and they agree closely with the values published by Carpenter (1966).
